Supporters of the CAB

Financial Support

The main ongoing source of financial support comes from the Vale of White Horse District Council. In 2005/2006 it has provided a grant of just over £85,000 towards the total cost of running the Bureau of £111,609.

Help has also come from the Abingdon Town Council and from other Parish Councils.

Friends of the CAB

The Bureau also benefits from The Abingdon CAB Friends. This is a separate registered charity which exists to provide additional resources for the Bureau. The Friends were set up in 1993, and have since donated around £15,000, either as direct financial support, or in furniture and equipment such as computers and photocopiers, or to pay for the costs of printing the annual report and publicity, and in meeting some training costs. The Friends consist of representatives of local businesses, the Mayor of Abingdon, members of the Bureau and former advisers, and meet about six times a year. The administrative costs of the Friends are underwritten by sponsoring companies and personal donations, so that every penny raised is passed on in full for the work of the Bureau.
